Unsafe work conditions: Dominos 833 S Cotton Ln, Good Year

My name is Kara Kramer and my daughter, Marni Kramer, worked as a driver at a Dominos at the place at 833 S Cotton Lane, Good Year Az. I want to bring a few things to your attention that is currently happening at the store which, I am sure, can’t be acceptable with the corporate office, and would not approve of:

Just a note, my daughter, Marni Kramer, has a stellar driving record, is very respectful and is a wonderful person. You likely hear this a lot, but she also has something called “CAPD” – Central Auditory Processing Disorder.  She has learning differences and it takes her more time than the average person to listen to questions or instructions, take it in, acknowledge or understand what was being said or asked, and react.  She hadn’t told any of the managers this, however, if you met her, you would know, even if you didn’t know what it was called, that she not only is an amazing person but has a condition of this sort.

Issues at the Pizza Place:

  1. Marni was burnt by one of the ovens and was told not to tell anyone or she would get fired. When my husband and I went to the store to speak with the General Manager, Jessica, we were told that even she had no idea where the first aid kit was.

  1. We were told that Marni saw videos to train her. I highly doubt that a company based in Michigan has a video of what to do during a sandstorm when she is on the road delivering Pizza to a customer.

  1. A Co- worker of hers mentioned that “Marni was a bit slow and there were other people in the store like her- just tell the employee and confirm this to her” …- Marni has no obligation to a co-worker to inform her about Marni’s condition. This was not appropriate, and Marni couldn’t believe she was asked about this.

  1.  Marni had an argument with a coworker- no manager nor general manager got a handle on the situation – Marni walked out and never went back to work. My husband and I went to speak with the general manager and apparently the women who Marni had an argument with lied and said Marni cursed at them. Marni does have learning differences- she would NEVER curse at anyone ever. She was never invited back, not even into a new place to start fresh as the general manager, Jessica, promised her.

  1. Marni is a good worker who follows the rules but needs rules and structure. For some reason, everyone in this franchised site is considered a manager. When 5 different people are giving Marni instructions on what to do, it gets very confusing for her.

  1. We have been asking Marni for months to ask about any sort of benefits she could potentially get. She has been working for 5 days a week, each day, at min, of 7 hours. No one knows anything about benefits and never gave her an answer.

It is apparent that your franchisees do NOT take care of its employees. Domino’s does not train their employees about what to do when there is an active shooter situation or an angry customer. The training tapes might show the employees what to do but let’s face it- young people take these delivery jobs, or people like Marni who can’t perform in an office- take these jobs and simply showing a video is not enough. A conversation and verbal, in person review is necessary. I asked if this could happen, and the General Manager said they simply never provide this type of training to their employees.
