I purchased franchise several years ago and at first it was exciting and was a good company to have in your corner. This all started to change few years ago with top leaders without experience making operation changes that reduced support, increased costs/fees, and seriously lacked focus on the thousands of small franchisees in the field. Today it has turned so sour and hostile that Leadership and Corp structure presents a “Don’t Care” attitude to us business owners. They are shifting many costs and fees back out to Franchisee’s to help reduce HQ costs, they are mandating new process and procedures that are inherently the Franchisor’s responsibility, they are leveling new and costly requirements without any regard to these small business in the field. ServiceMaster past strength was it’s ability to have small business in small towns across America. The new leadership doesn’t care about this any longer, They want big, large business in cities that can make more money and are basically telling the small business grow or else. This sounds good, but this cleaning/restoration company strength with insurance companies is the ability to COVER small areas and have national reach. I believe the Service Master with change considerably in next 5 years to a Large City only product that will lose many opportunities with insurance companies. The Company has lost its way, is no longer faith, family business and will end up like ServPro which I view from previous owners comments is money grabbing company without any regard to business owners profits.
