I visited a burger king on Nova Rd in Port Orange Fl yesterday afternoon with my 90 year old mother. We had a coupon for $6.99 whopper jrs, fries, and drinks. I paid and was given 2 drink cups. I went to the fountain machine where there was no ice. I asked the employee where’s the ice, they replied that they would fill it. I then proceeded to fill my drink cups yet there were no drinks available. I asked why there was no “out of order” sign and the machine and they said they would fill the drinks. A black lady came up and said that’s what I wanted, so stop complaining. I said as a courtesy to the customer, put a sign on the machine or better yet, when I ordered, ask me what drinks I wanted KNOWING that the machine was broken. That’s when this woman, who I am guessing was the manager came and started arguing with me. I told her it was wrong to have the customer not have access to the machine and to put on an “out of order” sign. She really got angry and started to argue. Meanwhile the burgers were waiting for the fries. When the fries finally came the burgers were cold. I asked for fresh “hot” burgers and she really got upset. Meanwhile there was one additional customer waiting. He was upset because she was dealing with my issue and not taking care of him. Why not call someone else to the register? Why did any of this happen? Why was any employee able to argue, heatedly, with a customer. If she was an employee, she needs retraining. If she was the manager, she should be fired! This is no way to treat a customer.
